Rapunzel

This is an exercise/meme I found out about here on dA, and the idea is to take a Disney coloring page(usually a princess one), and paint it as though it were a classical painting. I couldn't really chose a specific painting to take inspiration from, and instead chose the general style of of baroque paintings.

I initially was going to a few other characters, but I couldn't find any coloring pages that featured them AND suited me. But hey, I like Tangled a lot too, and I love all the hair I got to practice with.

This was definitely a learning experience. It took about three days time and forced me into a lot of unfamiliar territory. Especially the gems in the crown. Oh god, I've never done anything like that before. Mirrors. Never done those before either, but I did get some leeway since I didn't have to do the line art, I just fixed a lot of it(There were only two digits to each of her original fingers, for instance, and she had very chunky eyelashes haha). I'd consider doing another, but it was a tough piece to get through, so I don't think I'd do another anytime soon.
